This program provides the best Mixed Bag shooting at San Javier Lodge with a float trip on the middle section of the Limay River, known as the Limay Medio.
Mixed Bag is the combination of shooting 3 different species out of one location. It blends the best of the three worlds, the challenge of shooting ducks, the action of high volume doves and the gratifying perdiz hunt. The hunt takes places over the Parana River marchlands and islands. During the morning session you will shoot ducks or perdiz, and in the afternoons you will be shooting ducks or doves.
The first portion of this trip starts at San Javier Lodge where you will experience the best Mixed Bag Program. The lodge is located in Santa Fe Province, which is considered one of the best locations for duck hunting in Argentina. This beautiful estancia was built in a nineteenth century style and includes spacious rooms and private bathrooms. It has a comfortable living room with LED TV and Wi-FI access. The lodge is adjacent to the San Javier River and a short drive from the Santa Fe Airport (SFN). Our chefs are hard working and are very passionate about the meals they prepare. Dinner each night includes special appetizers and the menu always includes duck, perdiz, and grilled dove breast.
Following your dove shooting you will fly south to encounter the “River of Monsters” on the Limay Medio. Due to its remoteness and limited access this trip utilizes our Andes Drifters Deluxe River Camps. Fishing the Limay Medio and overnight in our Deluxe River Camp provides an experience that cannot be found anywhere else. This sixty-mile section of tail water is one of the most remarkable fisheries in all of Argentina. It supports a large and healthy population of resident browns and rainbows. These fish are all too willing to rise to a dry fly or chase down a streamer. Migratory browns (non-sea run) and rainbows are also an important part of the fishery. Migratory fish range in size from 6 to 18 pounds for browns and 4 to 9 pounds for rainbows. This world-class fishery is truly a “River of Monsters” where any cast can produce the trout of a lifetime.
