This unique program begins with some of the best dry fly action in the Junín and San Martín de los Andes area and concludes with three days on the middle stretch of the Limay River.
Day 1 to 4) The initial part of your itinerary can include fishing on the following rivers: Alumine, Caleufu, Chimehuin, Collon Cura and the Malleo. These fabled waters are where trout fishing in Argentina originated. During the initial portion of the trip you will enjoy the comfortable accommodations of Spring Creek Lodge, which is located in Junin de los Andes. Situated adjacent to the Chimehuin River, Spring Creek is a dedicated fly-fishing lodge. The lodge has six individual bungalows with two bedrooms, shared bathroom, living room and kitchen. Meals are served in the clubhouse which includes a bar, restaurant and lounge. The food is excellent as is the wine.
Day 5 to 7) On the second portion of this itinerary you will travel to the middle section of the Limay River or Limay Medio. This is truly a “River of Monsters” for large migratory (non-sea run) browns and rainbows. On the Limay Medio migratory fish range from 6 to 18 pounds for browns and 4 to 9 pounds for rainbows. This is a world-class fishery where any cast can produce the fish of a lifetime. Accommodations while on the Limay Medio will be in our Deluxe River Camps. We provide all the necessary gear for this experience. Including: tents, cots with mattresses, sleeping bags, tables, chairs, dining tent, cook tent, chemical toilet, hot water shower and electric power supply. Your dedicated camp staff handles all camp chores and cooking so you never have to lift a finger! Dinners are typically cooked over the open fire. Fishing the Limay Medio and over-nighting in our Deluxe River Camp provides an experience that can’t be found anywhere else in the trout- fishing world.
Day 7 to 8) After fishing concludes on the final fishing day you will be transferred by a private vehicle to Neuquen, Argentina. You will overnight at the Neuquen City Hotel where you will also enjoy your included dinner and wine. The following morning a private transfer will deliver you to the Neuquen Airport (NQN) for your flight to Buenos Aires.
