The Upper Parana River, located in Corrientes Province in northeastern Argentina, is home to our partners at Parana on the Fly Lodge. This is the friendliest Dorado destination on the market. Daily flights from Buenos Aires to Corrientes or Resistencia make the lodge easily accessible. Packages are available for 5, 6, or 7 nights. This destination is suitable for all skill levels and both fly and gear anglers are welcome. The Upper Parana is a tail water to the Yacyreta Dam, which is located 90 miles upstream from the lodge. Additionally, the lodge is located approximately 25 miles north of the confluence with the Paraguay River. Being a tail water and upstream from the Paraguay River our location experiences predictable and stable water conditions throughout the season.
Dorado (Salminus Maxillosus) is the primary target during the fishing day. These apex predators are considered by many to be the ultimate freshwater sport fish. Each season many fish in excess of thirty-pounds are hooked and landed. Additionally, this section of river also provides an excellent environment for pacu, pira pita, boga and pacui.
Expert guides insure that you will discover the rewards this fishery offers. Fishing this water with knowledgeable, professional guides is a guaranteed formula for success.
